Wicked great to be in Maine this week for my first NASFA Facilities Conference!NASFA kicks off the conference with each attendee introducing themselves, their organization, current projects, and areas where they could use peer support. Here's a quick rundown of what I heard:1. Funding Imbalance: Half the group struggles with more facility needs (capital renewal, deferred maintenance, PM, etc.) than funding. The other half has received substantial capital infusions and is struggling to figure out how to spend it all.2. Workload Balancing: There's concern about sustainable workloads, especially for project managers. Some states have project managers handling 60 projects each. WOW.3. Space Utilization: Office space often sits empty 3 out of 5 days a week. Should we sell it or hold onto it?4. Carbon Reduction Commitments: We're approaching this crucial topic in silos. Discussions included expanding solar farms, EV station costs, and future political alignment with these investments.5. Passion for Civic Duty: These leaders care deeply about their communities and know that innovation is key to providing safe, dynamic, and comfortable spaces. The time for action is now! I loved this specific thought, "Why do we wait to innovate? The time to innovate is when we're drowning, not after we've weathered the storm."I was glad to be a fly on the wall and am excited to explore how Gordian can help these state and local facility leaders navigate these challenges and play a role in the innovations to come!

Excited to see Dartmouth College on track to becoming a sustainability powerhouse! While not every institution has $500M to invest in green initiatives, this article highlights effective low and no-cost strategies for those with fewer resources as well. Special shoutout to Gordian's own Sophie Mason and Duncan Ketel for their insightful contributions throughout the piece! My favorite quote: "When possible, don’t view sustainability in a silo — instead, find the connections and overlaps with other areas where there is already traction to invest,” Mason said, pointing to areas like deferred maintenance and research, where capital spending might have dual purposes."Check out the full article to learn more. 🌱 https://lnkd.in/emTSs5U5

Though the in-week trophy eluded us this time around (congrats Industrial Scientific!), the team at Gordian is psyched. This week marked a significant turning point for our sellers, our business, and most importantly, our customers. A heartfelt thank you to each person who played a part in our success—I'll be sure to express my gratitude personally. For now, I hope these images of our team in action, immersed in #Gemba and problem-solving together, paint the picture of our week together. Rumor has it someone even got a tattoo to commemorate our time together! WOW.Heading home, I carry a sense of fulfillment, knowing our efforts will lead to even greater achievements. After being on the road for 3 weeks, I'm eager to reconnect with my family...shoutout to my husband, who managed two energetic 19-month-olds while I experienced a career milestone. Ready to put my Mom hat back on and so thankful to have had this experience. #ForYouForUsForGrowth #TeamTOFU #CEOKaizen

Thrilled to be representing Gordian at this year's Fortive CEO Kaizen! Our first day was nothing short of exhilarating—packed with lively discussions, spirited debates, and insightful AH-HAs. It has set an impressive standard for the week ahead, but I'm confident our team will rise to the challenge and crush our goals. An added bonus was tuning in to the readouts from other Kaizen teams at Intelex, Accruent, and Industrial Scientific. Learning about the problems they are solving, how they are taking action, and witnessing how they're leveraging FBS was awesome!#CEOKaizen #ForYouForUsForGrowth
